Lake Tawakoni State Park has so many activities to keep you busy. It’s Undeveloped and Quiet
Lake Tawakoni State Park is both undeveloped and quiet. The park is only open seasonally and is open June 1 to October 31. During the rest of the year, the park is closed and only accessible by foot or boat. This means you’ll be visiting an undisturbed part of Texas. You Can Spend the Day Fishing
Lake Tawakoni State Park is home to a beautiful freshwater lake. You can fish from the beach, from a pier, or from a boat. During the summer months, you can even fish in the evening hours to attract largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and other freshwater fish. And in the winter, you can fish for crappie, bass, and other warm water species. There’s a Gorgeous Chapel on the Property
One of the most beautiful buildings on the property is the chapel. Built in the 1920s, the chapel is in excellent condition and has been restored. The chapel is open to visitors and is a great place to visit while at Lake Tawakoni State Park. You can even attend weddings and other special events at the chapel. It has Breathtaking Views of the Lake and Hill Country
The views from Lake Tawakoni State Park are breathtaking. You’ll have some of the best views of the lake and Hill Country. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the Hill Country Scenic Byway. If you’d like to spend more time exploring the area, nearby Wills Point is a great town for exploring. It’s filled with restaurants, shops, and bars, and nearby is Lake Tawakoni State Park, for even more views and activities. And if you’d like to stay active, nearby McGregor is home to the Fort Worth nature center, a natural history museum, and several hiking trails.
