Quinlan Oreilly
The community is served by the Quinlan Independent School District. It is home to a full-sized Walmart Supercenter and Brookshire’s grocery store. It also has several restaurants and coffee shops including Fix & Feed, Giddy Up and Go Coffee Shop, Jazzys taps n Toes, Lotus & Vine, and Southern Rhea’s Boutique. Quinlan began as a railroad stop. Hetty and Edward Green owned and operated the Texas Midland Railroad. The railroad eventually consolidated into the Houston & Texas Central Railroad, and Quinlan was established as a depot town. The town’s name comes from George Austin Quinlan, who was the vice president of the Houston and Texas Central Railroad at the time.
Quinlan is located in southern Hunt County. It has an approximate population of 1,394 at the 2010 census. The population is expected to grow to 1,545 by 2020.
